Sound of Music

Do Re Mi

A few months ago Lance's mom gave us The Sound of Music on DVD.  We put it on in the car when we are going on longer car trips.  It has ended up being more often - like when we drive from Santaquin to Provo.  And now she has the whole movie memorized. It's hilarious.  She goes up and down stairs like Gretel does -  always singing "the sun has gone to bed and so must I".  She asks me to "hold Gretel" at least 3 times a day (which means hold her like Liesl did - like a baby).  She often breaks out in song throughout the day.  I feel pretty pleased that if she watches a movie in the car and memorizes one - it's this one!  Notice the British accent in "dear - deah".

Tildon Park

January 1, 2016

When we are home (in the Bay Area) we go to the same fun places each time.  One of those is Tilden Park in Kensington.  We LOVE going there! There is a cool old carousel, a little train, and a petting zoo.  A child's paradise! Unfortunately the train was closed the day we went.

This was on the way to Berkeley.  She cracks me up!

'
She was so excited to get on the toad!

Once it started moving she became terrified. Poor girl!
I am always surprised how she can be scared of things she loved last summer.

New Years Eve

December 31, 2015

Every night while in Fairfield we played "Personal Preference" once the girls were down.  It was so much fun! I am convinced that there is no better game to get to know someone than this one. The only night we didn't play was New Years Eve.  My parents stayed home with sleeping Joanne while we went to Hailey and Evan's.  It was such fun! Of course we didn't stay up till midnight (we aren't crazy! With a newborn, that's torture!) but it was still great!

I sure love Hailey!

This baby is a party animal!

Evan is so sweet with our little girlies.

The Batteries

December 31, 2015

One of the things Lance REALLY wanted to do in California was to visit Battery Mendell in Mill Valley. It seems like it is in San Francisco because you can see the Golden Gate Bridge and other San Francisco landmarks.  We went with Papa (Mom had a horrid cold that day) and had a great time.  It was a perfectly clear and beautiful day - but BOY was it cold! It's a good thing I had brought along Joanne's warm clothes! We had such a great time!
I sure love this family of mine.

Showing Jody the ocean.

Climbing the treacherous stairs at the batteries.

Jody LOVED the attention she got from Lance and Papa during this break!

So cold! WOW! My man looks GOOD!

At one point on the batteries where it was the windiest, Lance suggested to Jody that they go explore a part of it.  She was so cold that she answered "We already saw it!"  Ha! Smart girl!
So much graffiti.
We went to Rodeo Beach after exploring the batteries.  It was Joanne's first time at the beach!
She loved it until she tried to run away from a wave and fell in the water. Poor kid.

I love my girls!

What a fun day!

Visiting Hailey

December 2015

I love that we are able to visit Hailey when we are in town.  I don't know if I have talked about our friendship on the blog, but I'll do it now. Hailey and I met in our Sophomore year of high school in a few of our AP classes.  We quickly became kindred spirits and stayed best friends through all of high school and still to this day.  I love that we have remained so close even after all this time! I sure love you Hailey!

Our family at Hailey's house.
Sorry Joanne is blurry - she moves around so much it's amazing we get any good pictures of her!

Look at that smile! Marian is smiling so much these days!

I was so glad that we also got to see Hailey's sister Adrienne and her mom.

So sweet!

Jody crawled under the couch looking for Hailey's cats that were hiding.
Those poor cats!

Jelly Belly

December 26, 2015

We love how close the Jelly Belly factory is to my parents house - we visit it every time we are home! This time we went with Hailey Doyle and it was so much fun! Mostly Joanne just ran around the halls and got her energy out.  It was great!
